1978 Buick Century appeared reduced, redesigned century as a fastback coupe (“Aeroback”) and sedan (body was shared with the Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon) and the more traditional style kombi. Auto was more than a foot shorter, a few inches narrower, and a few hundred pounds lighter than its predecessor. V6 engines were still the standard, because fuel economy rules. 1978 Buick Century engine is based on a new Buick engine 196, introduced especially for this Buick Century and Buick Regal. 231 and 305 were option. 1968 Ford Ranchero

The new 1968 Ford Ranchero was not only larger but more angular than before, with more horizontal grille and vertical headlamps switched to horizontal headlamps quad.
